You don’t have to be fluent to belong—ima mijesta za sve

The Bosnian community is beautifully diverse. Many of us were born or raised in the United States, and while we may understand Bosnian, not everyone feels fully confident expressing vulnerable thoughts — especially about relationships — in a language they don’t use every day.

When it comes to something as personal as ljubav and connection, it’s important that people can show up authentically. For many Bosnian-Americans, English is the language where emotions, boundaries, and values come through most clearly.

That doesn’t mean we’re any less proud of where we come from. Naprotiv. You can honor your roots, carry our tradicija forward, and still choose the language that allows you to be most honest and open.

Bosanski Spoj je mjesto za sve nas — for those fluent in Bosnian, those more comfortable in English, and everyone in between. What matters most isn’t speaking any language perfectly, but the namjera you bring and the values you carry with you.
